Conveniently located only 80 minutes from Cairns, it is in within arms reach to many of the world- renowned natural tourism attractions, including Lake Eacham – a volcanic crater lake – and Millaa Millaa Falls – one of the most photographed waterfalls in Australia.

Rose Gums is advanced ecotourism accredited with 93 hectares of tropical rainforest bordering the World Heritage Wooroonooran National Park. The luxury pole and timber treehouses are totally private and feature large spa baths, cozy fireplaces and verandas with amazing mountain views. Explore pristine rainforest streams and miles of walking tracks. There is abundant wildlife with over 160 species recorded. Guided bird watching is also available. This cool tropical mountain retreat offers peace and relaxation. The treehouses are ideal for the romantic getaway or the family vacation. Complimentary Rose Gums Breakfast Hamper
For the first morning includes bacon, eggs, bread, butter, jams, organic yoghurt, cereal, muesli, milk, sachets of coffee, tea & sugar, ground coffee with plunger, tim tams. Further hampers can be purchased at reception.
Full kitchen facilities in all Rose Gums Treehouses
4 pot gas cooktop, convection microwave oven (will cook a small roast), medium size fridge, all crockery, cutlery, pots & pans, and condiments (salt/pepper/oil). So if you wish to prepare your own meals, shop before you arrive so that you can enjoy relaxing in the rainforest. Malanda (only 15 minutes drive) has a good supermarket while Yungaburra (20 minutes drive) has a corner shop with groceries. Alcohol can be purchased at bottle shops in both townships.
BBQ’s
Relax outside your treehouse enjoying your very own private BBQ. Don’t forget to pick up your meat on the way either from Yungaburra, Malanda or Atherton.
LEAF Restaurant
For a reasonable price, enjoy an evening meal at LEAF, Rose Gums’ own restaurant, a private dining experience in the treetops. For in-house guests only.

Rose Gums Wilderness Retreat has only 9 handcrafted pole and timber treehouses. All accommodation is fully self-contained and accessible from the carport outside the front door, most with only one step up to the front door.
