Larnach Castle

Larnach Castle

Nestled on the spectacular Otago Peninsula, Larnach Castle is one of Dunedin‘s must see visitor attractions. You can visit the Castle and discover its rich history that dates back to 1871 as well as explore the exquisite gardens, which have attained a Garden of International Significance award from the New Zealand Gardens Trust. The property is open 365 days a year; including Christmas Day.
Today, the Castle is surrounded by 7 acres of maintained Gardens. There is always something to see in the gardens at Larnach Castle. This is more than just a Garden of International Significance; it is a unique collection of specialized gardens.  Some of the special gardens are the Patterned Garden, the Lost Rock Garden, the Serpentine Walk, the Rain Forest, the South Seas Garden, the Alice Lawn, the Laburnum Arch and the Green Room.
Visitors can tour the castles and gardens or dine in the ballroom cafe. Unique styles of accommodation are also offered within the grounds of Larnach Castle.
